What is that????? A black flying ant? Already? Since I can only guess at its size, it looks truly menacing. Does it bite? Make nests in the house? Could it be used as a lethal weapon of mass destruction? So glad not to live where you are, huge ants on top of the unchecked dogs, the ferocious squirrels, chip-monks, woodpeckers, etc, etc, Why is not everybody constantly in a state of panic? Is that because of your famous drink you lately discovered and which is no doubt next to this computer? Take Care!!! Take very good care!!! Mum
It seems to be a sort of large wasp that somehow got into my office through the stupid French windows. It was about an inch-and-a-half long, and I was *very* relieved when I got it out again.

ReplyDeleteHaving researched the matter further, it appears to have been an ichneumon wasp, though I may be wrong.
